Ken and I were at the Genetrust Chimney Rock sale on November 1, 2014. I had told Ken that I did not intend to buy anything unless there was something there that was too good to pass up. We walked into the spring heifer pen and saw MS DMR Chisholm 415B7, a daughter of 415R23 and Chisholm. She was almost 9 months old and was just amazing. Her dam, 415R23, is arguably one of the top donors in the Brangus breed. She is a lead donor cow owned by Draggin’ M, Cross N Farms, and Bushley Creek. We were determined to make her calf, 415B7, part of our herd. 415B7 is now a female that would be in the top of any Brangus herd in the country.
415B7’s first calf was a bull calf by Stonewall that ran away from the rest of his contemporaries in every category. In the winter of 2017-2018, we flushed her for the first time. To date, 415B7 has been flushed to Capital Gain, Marlboro, Empire, and Austin’s Complete with more flushes to come. It appears that 415B7 is living up to the high standards that her dam has set.
